Research method

Methodology and classification

This web application is a public-facing derivative of the Prayer for the Nations Master Dataset. The Master Dataset remains the authoritative index; the website provides search, sorting, aggregation, and source links.

Direct Prayer

A high-confidence occurrence in which explicit prayer or intercession wording names the place. This is the default and most conservative prayer-request view.

Prayer-Linked

The place is grammatically linked to a prayer imperative, but the wording is less explicit than a direct formulation such as “pray for X.” These records are displayed separately.

Warning Only

A named place appears in a warning but is not made the object of prayer in that occurrence. A Warning Only record must never be described as an explicit prayer request.

Source fidelity

Message date, place, speaker, PDF page, classification, Reason / Context, and source are supplied from the reviewed dataset. Historical or original place wording is preserved rather than silently modernized.

Private revelation

The messages are presented as reported Catholic private revelation. This index does not claim that Catholics are obligated to believe them, and an Imprimatur or Nihil Obstat should not be confused with formal Church confirmation of supernatural origin.

Later events

This database does not contain a “fulfilled prophecy” field. A later historical event resembling a warning does not, by itself, establish that a prediction was fulfilled; such questions require separate historical research with independent sources and careful comparison of dates, magnitude, geography, and baseline frequency.
